A celebration of Ngarrindjeri culture and achievements will finally kick off on Monday.

Two months have passed since NAIDOC Week events around the Murraylands were postponed due to COVID-19.

The traditional bridge walk and awards ceremony is now scheduled to go ahead on Monday, starting what will now be almost a fortnight of events on the theme “heal country”.

Murray Bridge Mayor Brenton Lewis encouraged everyone to get involved.

“This is an opportunity for our community to focus on coming together, learning the  history, celebrating the achievements and honouring one of the oldest living cultures on our planet,” he said.
