National Reconciliation Week is from May 27 to June 3, and there are some good reconciliation events you can get involved in.
On Sunday, either walk or run for reconciliation at the Sturt Reserve, with registrations starting from 9am.
This is a great way to do your bit for healing Australia while getting exercise and spending time with your friends or family.
On Tuesday night, you can hear music for reconciliation from First Nations artists at the Station.

Walk or Run for Reconciliation: 9am at Sturt Reserve, Murray Bridge. As part of National Reconciliation Week 2023, either walk or run in the spirit of reconciliation. This year’s theme is “Be a voice for generations”, which calls for us all to be part of the collective journey of reconciliation. Reconciliation is about all Australians building relationships and communities that value First Nations, histories, cultures and futures. The walk or run is 3km long for juniors (16 and under) and 5km long for seniors (17 and over). Registrations open at 9am, followed by breakfast and prizes, and the run starts at 9.45am. Music for Reconciliation: 6pm–8 pm at the Station, 3–5 Railway Terrace, Murray Bridge. Come to the official screening of the film clips “Survival Day” and “No colour”, made by three young leaders (Isaiah, Aninna and Isaiah), who joined forces with local stars Deadly Nannas – Nragi Muthar to inspire positive change within the community. Walking in two worlds: The WWI story of Ngarrindjeri Anzacs Cyril and Rufus Rigney: 1.30 (for 2 pm start) to 4pm at Murray Bridge Library. Come to the launch of a powerful new audio podcast made for the Virtual War Memorial Australia’s Schools Program, funded by the Department for Education. The podcast explores the remarkable WWI story of brothers Cyril and Rufus Rigney, Ngarrindjeri men from Raukkan who enlisted underage and died on the battlefields of the Western Front in Belgium. The podcast was made in SA and includes a number of interviews recorded in Murray Bridge. There will be a smoking ceremony and Uncle Major Moogy will do a Welcome to Country.
