My Country, My Land exhibition opening: 1.30pm–3.30pm at the Coorong Gallery, 95–101 Railway Terrace, Tailem Bend. This exhibition opens in Reconciliation Week and runs until early August. It’s a celebration of culture, history and heritage through the eyes of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples of the Coorong and surrounding regions. Paint the Bridge REaD – mascot launch: 10.30am–1pm at the Murray Bridge Performing Arts and Function Centre (Town Hall). Our Reading Egg is growing bigger all the time, with the community talking, reading, rhyming and singing to it. But eggs don’t hatch themselves you know, so come along to the hatching. All families with children aged zero to five are invited to come and celebrate. It will be a day full of fun activities, music and food, with special guest appearances by iconic children’s entertainer Peter Combe. Bookings: eventbrite.com.au.

Cars and Coffee Murray Bridge: 8am–10am at the wharf precinct car park, Wharf Road, Murray Bridge. Everyone is welcome to come along to see cool cars and grab a coffee, hot chocolate, milkshake, cold drinks and/or a bite to eat (doughnuts and egg-and-bacon rolls). Community Wellbeing Walk: 12.30pm–1pm (every Monday and Thursday throughout June), starting at the Square, 2 South Terrace, Murray Bridge. All are welcome at this free, pram-friendly and animal-friendly initiative from the Murray Bridge Community Centre and Wellbeing SA. Bring a bottle of water and comfortable shoes. Each new walker will receive a free coffee voucher, redeemable at either Little Local Co or the GCS Cafe. Cooking on a budget: 10.30am–1pm (every Wednesday for six weeks) at the Haven, Murray Bridge Community Centre, 18 Beatty Terrace. The Haven and Ozharvest have joined forces to present the free Nest program. Learn how to cook on a budget and create delicious meals the whole family will enjoy. At the end of the six-week program, you’ll receive a certificate, take-home resources and your own copy of the Ozharvest Everyday Cookbook, packed with simple, healthy and delicous recipes that mostly cost less than $3 per serve. Murray Bridge Structure Plan – Community drop-in session 1: Anytime between 4pm to 6pm at the Local Government Centre, 2 Seventh Street, Murray Bridge. Council is preparing a structure plan to help guide the future growth and development of the city and identify which land, services and infrastructure are required to support this growth. This is the first of two community drop-in sessions and is an informal opportunity for you to speak with the experts from Holmes Dyer in person, find out more information about the project and provide verbal feedback.
