As the school holidays continue, you may want some fresh ideas for things to do with your kids – you’re welcome!

There are several cool holiday activities in the Murraylands this week.

If your kids want to try an escape room, there are four escape room sessions on Wednesday at the Murray Bridge Library.

On Tuesday, there are art workshops in Murray Bridge and Tailem Bend and a teddy bears picnic in Murray Bridge.

And don’t forget to get to Sturt Reserve on Thursday to design and fly a kite.

Free clean green organic waste drop-off day: 8am–4pm at the Brinkley Waste and Recycling Facility, 527 Brinkley Road, Brinkley. If you’re a Murray Bridge resident, you can drop off your leaves, prunings and small branches up to 100mm in diameter. Loads are limited to an 8x5 trailer size, but unlimited visits are allowed. Horse-racing trials: First trial begins at 9am at the Murray Bridge Racing Club, 342 Brinkley Road, Gifford Hill. Check out the form in the categories of maidens, two-year-olds, three-year-olds and opens. For more information, phone the Racing Club on 8532 2310.

Mega pre-loved book sale: 9.30am–11.30am at the Murray Bridge Library. The Friends of the Murray Bridge Library are also your friends, as they’re inviting you to fill a shopping bag of pre-loved books for only $5. Nitro Nat: 11am at the Murray Bridge Town Hall. Nitro Nat uses her science expertise to present a fun, engaging, family-friendly show that explores chemical reactions with lots of colours, wonder and mess. 4WD Come and try day: 10am–1pm at the Bend, 4WD Park, 543 Dukes Highway, Tailem Bend. Bring your own 4WD to the Bend’s 4WD Park. Join the experts from the Murray Bridge Hand Spinners and Weavers Guild and learn the art of wet felting. Challenge the chilly weather by felting your very own colourful woollen scarf. You’ll get the chance to felt a small object, such as a flower, and then combine the felt and object into a fun “garden scarf”. Cost: $46; $42 concession. Grow Your Own Food workshop: Sold out.

SMART Recovery Group: 10.30am–12pm weekly at the Murray Bridge Community Centre, 18 Beatty Terrace. Relationships Australia will be starting a SMART Recovery Group for people to support each other in overcoming life challenges caused by problematic behaviour and/or addiction. No referral or registration is needed, and there’s no expectation to attend every group. Anyone who’s trying to change any behaviour/addiction can drop in.
