This week will mark the beginning of NAIDOC week celebrations starting with the annual bridge walk and awards ceremony on Monday.

National NAIDOC week celebrations are held across Australia during the first week of July, to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Friday will start the weekend off with plenty of crafts for the kids to enjoy including pot plants making and painting with rockstar plant guru Markus Hamence.

Also a high tea at the Mannum Rowing Club sounds like the perfect way to spend a Sunday along the river, enjoy!

Garden workshop with Sophie Thomson: 9.30am-12.30pm at Mannum Golf Club, Douglas Street, Port Mannum. Join iREACH Rural Health and Sophie Thomson, writer, presenter and gardening extraordinaire for another community workshop promoting resilience and wellbeing. Free morning tea provided. Lacemakers workshop: 10am-12noon at Murray Bridge Library, 2/51 South Terrace, Murray Bridge. Join the Murray Bridge Lacemakers Group for this workshop which shows you how to create your own lace pillow and delve into the intricate art of lace making. Pot painting and planting workshop: 4pm-5pm at Murray Bridge Library, 2/51 South Terrace, Murray Bridge. Hosted by Adelaide's rockstar indoor plant guru and styling king, Markus Hamence, this workshop will help children develop their appreciation of nature while being super creative. Sunday 6th ⛅ 17°

Cars and coffee: 8am-10am at Wharf Precinct, Sturt Reserve, Murray Bridge. Family friendly group of car enthusiasts who get get together and look at a great selection of cars, bikes and trucks. Priority parking for July will be two door cars - no utes or trucks please. Dog friendly. Coffee and food van provided by Mobilong Rotary Club.

Mannum market: 9am-2pm at Arnold Park, near the Information Centre and the ferries. The market has an eclectic mix of over 30 stallholders, including delicious food, artisan jewellery, fine local handcrafted items, plants, candles, fresh produce and much more. Come and meet the people who make the products. Enjoy the atmosphere, chat to the locals, watch the buskers and then grab something to eat and relax on the lawns by the river.

Daniel Herreen - solo: 12.30pm at the Pretoria Hotel, Mannum. Sit back, relax and enjoy a lazy afternoon by the river with the music of Daniel Herreen.

Mannum history group high tea: 2pm-4pm at Mannum Rowing Club, Mary Ann reserve, River Lane, Mannum. Join us for an elegant afternoon of tea, treats, and timeless conversation as we celebrate local history in style. Dino days at the outpost: 10am-11am at Monarto Safari Park, Monarto. Calling all little paleontologists. Get ready to dig, learn and play at our exciting Dino Day adventure. Roll up your sleeves in the dino sensory pit and attend an interactive workshop uncovering fascinating dino facts. All non-members must pre-book their visit with a date-specific ticket.
