A highlight of the exciting Fringe-filled week ahead will be the Murray Bridge Fringe underground artist market at the Station on Sunday afternoon.
There’s something for kids and adults alike in this new family-friendly event in the Murraylands, combining art and art battles, live music, coffee, snacks and a wall.
Support the art and music of young creatives and have a great day out.

Research into planning and preparing for bushfire: 9am–1.30pm and 3.45–5pm at Tailem Bend Community Centre, 141 Railway Terrace, Tailem Bend. If you’re 70 years or older, living in the Coorong local government area and interested in joining in a study about planning and preparing for bushfires, researchers from Flinders University would love to chat to you. You can drop by to do an interview or book in for another day. Interview participants will receive a $50 gift card as thanks. Farming in a changing world – What works in the Mallee: 1pm–5pm at the Karoonda Football Club. Don’t miss the opportunity to learn about the practical application of carbon farming in Mallee conditions, including the use of regenerative agriculture and native grass species as a way to meet on-farm carbon goals. Murray Bridge United Football Club junior registration/information/nomination night: 4pm–6.30pm at the Murray Bridge United Soccer Club, 20 Beatty Terrace, Murray Bridge. Redneck Greenie – Confessions of an Ozymoron: 8pm–9.45pm at the Bridgeport Hotel, Murray Bridge. This Fringe show combines comedy, cabaret, stand-up, confessional and physical theatre like you’ve never seen before. Tickets: $33 and $28 (concession) at adelaidefringe.com.au.

Fringe on Sixth: From 5.30pm on Sixth Street, Murray Bridge. A public celebration of the arts featuring a mix of Adelaide Fringe and Murraylands-based performers. Sixth Street, in the heart of Murray Bridge, will be closed for the street party style event with performances through the evening.
Bimbo: 7pm–8pm at the Murray Bridge Performing Arts and Function Centre, 17 Bridge Street, Murray Bridge. This Fringe show, presented by Murray Bridge’s Hannah Smith and directed by Amelia Rooney, tells the story of what it’s like being a woman experiencing life. Bimbo explores themes of feminism and female sexuality and what it’s like to be queer and have a sense of dread over not being so-called “pure”. Through songs of hope, lust, love, anger and pain, this is the collective story of womankind. Tickets: $10 at FringeTix.

Murray Bridge Fringe underground artist market: 1pm–5pm at the Station, 3–5 Railway Terrace, Murray Bridge. Syckit Art and the Station have joined forces to create the first event of its kind in the Murraylands. This free, all-ages and family-friendly Fringe event will feature many talented young locals in live art and art battles; youth art markets and displays; live acoustic music; and much more. Mr Snotbottom’s Stinky Silly Show: 2pm–2.50pm at the Murray Bridge Performing Arts and Function Centre, 17 Bridge Street, Murray Bridge. This Fringe show is suitable for kids aged from 4 to 12 and their parents. Mr Snotbottom – not surprisingly – is a comedian, brimming with all the gooey, smelly and yucky topics kids love: boogers, pop-offs and smells. Be repulsed by horrible stories, gross gags and just wrong routines in this rollercoaster of weirdness. Tickets: $20 at FringeTix. Unpredictable Magic: 3.30pm at the Bridgeport Hotel. This fun Fringe show is an exciting crossover between circus juggling and magic and silliness and sophistication, presented by Nic from Off the Shelf Juggling and Drew Magic. Tickets: $28 at FringeTix.
Simply Sade: 7pm at the Murray Bridge Performing Arts and Function Centre, 17 Bridge Street, Murray Bridge. Experience the ultimate Sade tribute show from Bonnie & the BoyZ. Enjoy classic songs from Sade, “Smooth operator” and “Your love is king”, plus many more. Apart from the funky songs, this exciting Fringe show includes engaging stories and dynamic performances and costumes. Tickets: $42 at FringeTix. Being Digital – getting to know your device: 10am–12pm at Murray Bridge Library. Being Digital is a program to help promote the digital assistance and learning that libraries offer to adult South Australians. If you need help using your iPhone, contact the library on 8539 1175 to book.
Colourful creations: 1pm–3pm at the Tailem Bend Community Centre. In this new class for 2023, discover the benefits of colouring, painting and creating, such as relaxing and improving your focus and skills. Colourful creations include the use of various mediums: gel pens, watercolours, crayons, textas, foils, scratching and more. Digital or online colouring apps are also an option. Thursday night at the movies: 5.30pm at the Murray Bridge Library. This week’s flick is Ticket to Paradise, with Hollywood heavy hitters George Clooney and Julia Roberts. A man and his ex-wife race to Bali to stop their daughter from marrying a seaweed farmer. But in the process, their old feelings of romance become rekindled.
