SALA has taken over the Murraylands, with colourful and exciting exhibitions on display all throughout the region.

Three new exhibitions are visiting the Murray Bridge Regional Gallery; Mallee Soul by Angela Roesler, the Refugee Week Youth Poster Awards 2022 and the long-awaited mural My Name, which artist Cynthia Schwertsik is painting live in the gallery until Sunday.

Coorong Gallery will also officially open its own exhibition Looking Out/Looking In on Friday, while Murray Bridge Marketplace will feature Random Acts of Art from Thursday.

Looking Out/Looking In Exhibition Opening: 2.30-4.30pm at the Coorong Gallery. This year’s SALA theme for the Coorong Gallery is ‘Looking Out/Looking In’. The collaborative exhibition demonstrates that what we choose to see in the outside world may be a reflection of what resides within us. Please RSVP for catering numbers to pcrabb@coorong.sa.gov.au.

Refugee Week Youth Poster Awards 2022 - exhibition opening: 10am at the Murray Bridge Regional Gallery. These artworks from students of all ages, from all over the state, will all be on display to raise awareness about issues affecting refugees and highlight their valuable contributions to Australian society. Come along and learn all about multiculturalism, human rights and cultural diversity in this inspiring collection of art.

Netball on the Road coach and umpire mentoring: all day at home and away matches in Murray Bridge.

Cars and Coffee: 8-10am at the wharf precinct car park, Murray Bridge. The car enthusiasts social group is hosting their monthly event, and all are welcome to come along. Check out the cars on display and have a drink and a bite to eat at the wharf precinct along the river. Those bringing their cars can have a photo in front of the bridges. Car boot sale: 10am-2pm at Jervois Hall. Come along and see what treasures you can find. Sellers are to arrive and set up before 9.30am. Set-up will be $15 for outside or inside, or $20 for inside with a table supplied. Contact Phyllis at 0417 837 641 for more information or to book.

Netball on the Road first nations clinic: 9am-12pm at the Murray Bridge Basketball Stadium. From 9-10:30am will be 7-13 year olds playing, and from 10:30am-12pm will be 14-17 year olds playing.

Come along and speak with tertiary education providers like universities and TAFE SA, or apprenticeship, traineeship and recruitment providers, and more. Better yet, the event is free.
