Boot-scooting long weekend beckons at the Bend Classic
Do you like cars, country music, beer and rum? If so, then the Bend Classic is for you.
The Bend Classic is back on this long weekend, promising classic and motorsport cars, live country music and an annual beer and rum run across Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Renowned country artists Lee Kernaghan and James Johnston are scheduled as the headline performers for Saturday.
There will be a classic car collection at the welcome centre, including icons from Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Magnum and a replica of the 1969 Dodge Charger seen in the hit television series, The Dukes of Hazard.
A BBQ village will feature barbecue demonstrations and tastings alongside the event's food vendors.
Five dollar meat pies will also be up for purchase at the welcome centre.
Other activities on offer will include a ute muster display, whip cracking, karting and line dancing.
Giddy up for the rodeo on Friday
If you like watching people hold onto dear life while riding on the back of a bull then Friday will certainly be for you.
The rodeo action is set to start at 5pm, when visitors will be treated to a range of spectacular bull riding events alongside barrel racing.
The bull-riding entertainment will end at 9pm but don't worry, the party will continue at an Old Town Road Country Dance Party to finish the night.
Country stars will shine on Saturday
Saturday will be the day dedicated to country music alongside the the Bend Classic Beer and Rum Run.
Country artists will be performing on the main stage throughout the day, building up the crowd's excitement before Lee Kernaghan and James Johnston go on stage as the headline performers.
The Classic Beer and Rum Run will take place from 1pm at the rodeo arena nearby the concert stage.
Teams of four are set to race against each other in a 100-metre hobby horse relay, with each member running 25m with Coopers or Belgium rum in their cup.
Prizes will be given out on the day, including a prize for best dressed so it may pay to give the old boots a polish before you go.
At 9pm, Saddle and Stomp line dancing will attempt to break a record by having more than 800 people on the dance floor, so make sure to bring along your dancing shoes Saturday night.
Show and shine will roll in on Sunday
An annual show and shine event will take place on Sunday, notably featuring the truck driven by Snowman in the 1977 film, Smokey and the Bandit.
The Bend will wrap up by turning the Dragway into a drive-in cinema with the same film scheduled to play at 6.30pm.
The drive-in cinema will be free for ticket holders but will cost $24.90 for non-ticket holders.
