Tailem Bend moviegoers enjoy a night out at Rogers Park

Families have gone to a lot of effort to impress the judges of a best costume prize at a booked-out outdoor movie night at Rogers Park, Tailem Bend.
A popular choice with families, the Friday night showing of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, organised by Tailem Bend Community Centre, was well received by audience members young and old.
Fresh from pilfering presents and adornments from local homes, a sour, cranky grinch appeared in person before being chased from the park by the energised children in the crowd.
Determined to eat all the popcorn and green grinch cookies, and to pester and unsettle families before the movie screening, the grinch was saved from the marauding children by Lilly Shepherd, of Tailem Bend, who took a moment for a quiet chat with him about how she had read that his heart was “two sizes too small” and that that was why he still thought Christmas was all about money and presents.
“Don’t worry Grinch, Mum told me that your heart will grow three sizes and you’ll be happy again soon,” Lilly said.
The outdoor movie night was another wonderful Christmas community success, and the Duke family of Tailem Bend extended a huge shout-out to the event organisers.
“We’re so grateful for all the work and effort the community centre does,” Felicity Duke said.
“Tonight has been another amazing fun night for our family – thanks again.”
