Tailem Bend ferry will close for a while next Tuesday
The Department for Infrastructure and Transport advises that the Tailem Bend ferry service will be closed for a time on March 7, weather permitting.
The Department for Infrastructure and Transport advises that the Tailem Bend ferry service will be closed from 10am until 2pm next Tuesday, March 7, weather permitting.
The ferry service closure will enable routine maintenance.
Alternative crossings will be at the Swanport Bridge and Wellington Ferry.
Over the past week, four River Murray ferries have re-opened: the Walker Flat, Swan Reach, Wellington and Mannum upstream ferries.
The re-opening of the River Murray ferries marked the first time since November 2022 that all 12 ferries run by the Department for Infrastructure and Transport have been open, either in full or with restrictions.
