Steer clear of the Old Murray Bridge on coming Tuesdays

As part of the ongoing revamp of the Old Murray Bridge, there will be temporary bridge closures in coming months, particularly on Tuesdays.

In addition to the Tuesday bridge closures, there will be further closures to dismantle and store scaffolding safely.

Scheduled bridge closures:

  • Full bridge closures will occur between 9.30 am to 2.30 pm each Tuesday in January and February

Also, due to the Murray Bridge flood event and restricted access under the bridge, closures of up to 10 minutes will occur to move materials safely into work areas from the bridge level.

Ten-minute closures, for movement of essential materials:

  • When required, from Monday 12 December 2022 until April 2023. These may occur between 10 am and 2 pm from Monday to Saturday.

As delays are expected, itā€™s important to plan ahead and allow extra travel time and take extra care when workers are on site.

When planning your routes, note that if River Murray floods are not operating during the floods, the Swanport Bridge (on the South Eastern Freeway) will be the only river crossing between Blanchetown and Goolwa.
