St Joseph’s School student wins Christmas colouring competition
An artwork by a Murray Bridge student will go on the front of a Christmas card sent to thousands of people by federal MP Tony Pasin.
An eight-year-old St Joseph’s School student will have his art shown to thousands of people this month after winning a colouring-in competition run by federal MP Tony Pasin.
A picture by the student, also named Tony, will feature on the front of a Christmas card sent to voters across the electorate of Barker.
Mr Pasin visited the school recently to present young Tony with a prize: a box of fancy new colour pencils.
“Congratulations to all students who took the time to create artwork and enter the competition,” the MP said.
“There were hundreds of entries, and it was heartwarming to see the excitement for Christmas and the pride for their region reflected in the children’s work.”
Barker shield recipients announced
Meanwhile, Mr Pasin also announced the winners of the annual Barker Shield awards presented at schools across the electorate.
At Murray Bridge High School the winners were Nicholas Law for academic achievement, Adam Schubert for community spirit and service and Mia Duncan for leadership.
Unity College’s winners were Josh Zarantonello, Bella Marchetti and Evie Calnan, respectively, in the same three categories.
