Sports reports: Junior gymnasts do well at state championships

The SA Junior Gymnastics Championships have been held recently in Adelaide, with two local athletes placing highly in their age groups.
Briahna took silver on bars and Layla was fourth on floor.
Gymnastics was a highly skilled sport and it took a lot of hard work to achieve those kinds of results, said the Murraylands Gymnastics Academy in a social media post.

Horse of the year finalists announced
The finalists are in for the 2025-26 Murray Bridge Horse of the Year.
Vying for the coveted title are Garrett Lynch's tough Stakes winner Alainge, Sarah Rutten Racing's star stayer Eventually, group three-winning filly Fringes for Michael Hickmott Bloodstock and Mating Call, who won a group three and was group one-placed, for Dan Clarken and Oopy McGillivray.
The winner will be announced at a spring racing lunch and awards event at Murray Bridge Racing Club on September 24.
The spring racing season kicked off this week in Murray Bridge.
