Speeding driver clocked at 153km/h on South Eastern Freeway

Police have caught up with a driver who was allegedly doing 153 kilometres per hour on the South Eastern Freeway on Monday morning.

Officers spotted the silver Kia wagon travelling east at White Hill at 2.56am.

They allegedly detected it travelling at 43km/h over the speed limit.

They fined the driver, a 29-year-old Fijian man, $1734 and took seven demerit points off his licence.

Drink driver gets an education on Oxford Street

Meanwhile, a Murray Bridge man has lost his licence for 12 months, and his car for 28 days, after being caught allegedly drink driving on Saturday.

Police pulled over his car for a breath test on Oxford Street, near the hospital, around 7.30pm.

The driver allegedly blew 0.154, or three times the legal blood alcohol limit.

He will face court over the matter.
