Hundreds of people have filled Murray Bridge’s Sturt Reserve for a celebration of the many cultures in the Murraylands on Sunday.

The Yuntu-Walun Multicultural Festival featured a colourful lineup of musicians and dancers, plus stallholders offering everything from Ukrainian and Chinese treats to a chance to pat a baby crocodile.

The event was a perfect example of Murray Bridge’s commitment to welcoming new neighbours, state Multicultural Affairs Minister Zoe Bettison said.

It was why the city’s council had been commended at the Governor’s Multicultural Awards last month.

She thanked Murraylands Multicultural Network chair John Scarvelis, Murraylands Migrant Resource manager Heather Muirhead and everyone else who had contributed to making the event such a success.
