Tailem Bend has welcomed the official opening of the newest attraction at the Shell V-Power Motorsport Park with a twilight street party – one that will not be forgotten for some time.
The town’s main street was buzzing on Friday night as crowds swelled with visitors from all over Australia, all revelling in anticipation of an exciting weekend of drag racing at the Dragway at the Bend.
Local residents could feel the rumble and hear the extreme sounds of the National Drag Racing Championship demonstrations as they lit up the town’s main street.
True to the town’s historic racing roots, the street party featured plenty of vintage, classic, muscle and drag cars, along with motorbikes of all calibres; the entertainment and live music was exceptional and there were plenty of food trucks to please everyone’s taste.
Tailem Bend and the Coorong council really know how to put on a great show.
