Some of the Murraylands’ most successful women have been celebrated at a rescheduled International Women’s Day event at Murray Bridge’s Round House.

The original day in March was stinking hot, so Friday night became the new date for the event organised by local businesswoman Tracey Finocchio.

Speakers including Bowhill Engineering CEO Jodie Hawkes, SA Police Superintendent Cindy Healey and Murray Bridge council executive Thuyen Vi-Alternetti gave an account of their own journeys and experiences as women in positions of authority.

Attendees enjoyed pizza and drinks, entered a raffle, participated in a kids’ colouring competition and wrote down affirmations.

International Women’s Day was also celebrated by Murray Bridge’s Soroptimists at an afternoon tea on March 7.
