Blokes from all over Australia and beyond, and a few women too, have gathered in Murray Bridge this week for the national conference of the Australian Men’s Shed Association.

The 10th National Men’s Shed Gathering kicked off on Wednesday morning with breakfast at the Murraylands Community Men’s Shed.

About 120 delegates were impressed by the facilities on offer at the shed on Murray Bridge’s east side – but more so by the quality of the blokes who keep busy there.

Patron and federal MP Tony Pasin described the men’s shed movement as “the most important social movement in our country”, one which kept men going when work and other social supports fell away.

Delegates headed on from the breakfast to the Bridgeport Hotel for a two-day program with a focus on the future of men’s sheds.
