A six-year-old girl has died after a car accident at Virginia last week.

The girl was one of three child passengers in a van, driven by a Murray Bridge woman, which was struck by a ute at the corner of King Road and Penfield Road on October 5.

She had been taken to hospital in a critical condition, and passed away five days later.

No-one else involved in the accident received more than minor physical injuries.

The girl’s death was the 69th on South Australian roads this year.

Meanwhile, shoppers noticed a bit of commotion in the car park at Murray Bridge Marketplace last Wednesday.

Several cars had collided.

Police, paramedics and firefighters all attended the scene, but nobody was seriously injured.
