Six exceptional tourism businesses from the region have been announced as finalists in the 2024 South Australian Tourism Awards.
Monarto Safari Park has once again placed as a nominee in the awards, along with five other business around the Murraylands.
This includes Murray River experiences like the Murray Princess and Bill's Boathouse.
The Shell V-Power Motorsport Park earnt a spot alongside the Rydges Pit Lane Hotel.
One unique nominee is Juggle House Experiences, a touring business run by Kelly Kuhn.
Being a finalist demonstrated how the business had met and exceeded tourism industry standards, she said.
The application process took months to complete, with a 10,000-word application and judgement of their customer reviews.
"Just to be named a finalist is an achievement in itself," she said.
Juggle House Experiences was a finalist in 2019 when it first entered, and in 2022 it won the tour and transport category.
"We didn’t enter in 2020 because of the global pandemic, and also didn’t enter in 2023 because of the Murray River flood," Ms Kuhn said.
"As a tourism business, showcasing the local area to locals is one of the most surprisingly satisfying aspects of business."
"It’s common worldwide for people to take their own backyard for granted.
"Information sharing, is key and supporting local business has a multiplier effect into our own economy."
