Second travelator breaks down at Murray Bridge Marketplace
Shoppers with trolleys or mobility aids will find it harder than usual to access the centre’s car park during the next few weeks.

If you have mobility issues, you may want to plan ahead of your next visit to Murray Bridge’s biggest shopping centre.
Both of the travelators which connect the mall with its undercover car park will be out of service for the next few weeks.
One had been playing up since Christmas, and was shut down several weeks ago to await a new motor being shipped from overseas.
On Tuesday, centre management alerted Murray Bridge News that the other one had broken, too.
“We understand our customers' frustration with the moving walk being out of order,” management said in a statement.
“Despite our comprehensive maintenance arrangements, a major part failed on the downward travelator, and the upward travelator has malfunctioned.
“Both sections require replacement parts, which have been ordered and are awaiting delivery.
“We expect the moving walk to be fully operational before the end of July.”
In the meantime, some shoppers would be able to keep walking up and down the travelators.
However, those with trolleys, prams or mobility aids would be encouraged to use the lift nearby, or the one near Big W.
“We have arranged additional centre staff to assist and direct customers when in the centre,” management said.
“The safety of our shoppers is our highest priority and we apologise for the inconvenience.”
The travelators were originally installed when Murray Bridge Marketplace opened in late 2011.
The centre is owned by the Region Group and managed by property firm Knight Frank.
Clarification: This story has been updated to reflect the fact that shoppers can use either of the centre’s lifts.
