October 1 was Probus Day, and throughout the month Probus Clubs around Australia have been enjoying a range of activities to celebrate.

The theme was “celebrate Probus – do a friend a favour”.

Mobilong Ladies’ Probus Club has been active for 33 years, although COVID-19 has caused some meetings to be cancelled over the past 18 months.

To celebrate Probus Day, 51 club members enjoyed a delicious morning tea seated at tables decorated in Probus’ colours, blue and yellow, at the John Dohler Hall in Murray Bridge.

Prior to the morning tea, those present were fortunate to have federal Member for Barker Tony Pasin as the guest speaker.

His constituents number around 120,000 people.

He shared information on his background, which formed the basis for his actions as a politician.

He gave an overview on money that was to be spent in the Rural City of Murray Bridge and said he was very proud to be involved in projects that would assist in the growth of the local area.

After his talk, Mr Pasin and electorate officer Heidi Elliott joined the ladies for morning tea.

Mobilong Ladies’ Probus Club would like to invite any retirees who are interested in joining to contact Lois on 0414 727 665 or by email at loisg@internode.on.net.

Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at the John Dohler Hall in Murray Bridge.
