The bad shape of country roads has prompted the start of a Liberal “report your roads” campaign.

Constant complaints have prompted South Australia’s opposition to launch a new “Report Your Road” campaign.

South Australians are being encouraged to take photos when they come across a road in bad shape.

State Opposition Leader David Speirs said he heard constant complaints about the state of regional roads, an issue he said shouldn’t be abandoned any longer.

“I encourage everyone who travels around our great state who notices a road in poor condition to submit it to Report Your Road,” he said.

Opposition regional roads spokesman Adrian Pederick said he was disappointed that there was no longer a dedicated minister for regional roads.

He feared the regional road network would slip down the government’s priority list.

“Safe, well-maintained roads shouldn’t be viewed as a luxury but a necessity, and the state of disrepair I’ve witnessed in our regions would never be tolerated in the city,” Mr Pederick said.
