Police news: Dim drink driver caught with no headlights on Swanport Road
Plus police investigate thefts at Mypolonga and Karoonda and property damage at Coonalpyn.
Police have reported a Murray Bridge man who was allegedly drink driving without any headlights on one night last week.
Officers spotted the man’s car on Swanport Road just before 2am on Wednesday.
They stopped it and breath tested its driver, a 41-year-old local man.
He allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.218, more than four times the legal limit.
The police disqualified him from driving for 12 months and impounded his car for 28 days.
He will answer to Murray Bridge Magistrates Court for the alleged drink driving and driving without headlights.
Ride-on mower stolen at Mypolonga, trailer at Karoonda
Police are investigating two recent thefts in the Murraylands.
A ride-on lawnmower and fuel were stolen from the Mypolonga Combined Sports Club sometime recently.
The theft of the green John Deere LX175 mower was noticed last Wednesday, August 12, but could have happened anytime after August 5.
Meanwhile, at Karoonda, a trailer was stolen from a property on Lewis Road, on the edge of town.
The 35-year-old blue trailer, a Kessner with registration TZA 972, went missing sometime between August 8 and 10.

Car scratched at Coonalpyn
Police are also trying to find the person who scratched up a car at Coonalpyn recently, causing thousands of dollars worth of damage.
A car on Peake Terrace was "extensively" damaged between 8am on Thursday, August 6 and 10.25am the next day.
