Murray Bridge will again host an All Culture Fest at the city’s performing arts and function centre on June 22.

This year a musical performance by Voice of Lele will be the newest addition, uniting communities through music.

Lele is a proud West Papuan woman and refugee who will share her experience with interactive activities.

She and her family were granted refugee status in Australia in 1988 after fleeing West Papua.

The community event, running from 2-4pm, will include a citizenship ceremony to welcome new Australians into the community.

It comes as a collaboration between the Rural City of Murray, the Murraylands Migrant Resource Centre and Genuine Support Services Australia.

The gathering aims to unite individuals of all ages and backgrounds while acknowledging the contributions of diverse cultures to the Murraylands region.

Mayor Wayne Thorley said hosting the event provided an opportunity to celebrate diversity in the community.

“This event is a testament to our inclusive spirit and serves as a platform to recognise the multicultural fabric of Murray Bridge,” he said.

“We welcome everyone to join us for a day of celebration.”
