A local internet provider is bringing lightning-fast internet to Murray Bridge for the first time.
Unwyred customers who opt for the new Unwyred 500 plan will have download speeds as fast as 500 Mbps, the fastest internet yet available in Murray Bridge.
Co-founder and general manager Daniel Gower said customers under the plan will be connected by a fixed wireless signal, with unlimited data and upload speeds of up to 200 Mbps.
“We’ve been given the green light to bring up to 500 Mbps to Murray Bridge via fixed wireless technologies,” Mr Gower said.
“We have three new plans coming out: 500 Mbps, 250 Mbps and 120 Mbps, in a five-kilometre radius of the Murray Bridge main street.
“It will be in selected areas to start with, but the more people we can get on board, the more sites we can build.”
The company already developed a reputation within the industry for developing Australia’s first hybrid blockchain internet service, utilising the Skycoin Projects technology.
More recently, the business expanded into providing business lines and personal SIM plans with Unwyred Mobile.
Mr Gower said something that motivated him and co-founder Daniel Hocking to start the business was the community itself.
“We’re becoming a full-fledged telco … we want locals to look at our company as another option,” Mr Gower said.
“Regional people deserve this service, and our local presence is what sets us apart.”
