Police are investigating the theft of car parts and tools from a property at Tailem Bend.

A locked yard on South Terrace was broken into sometime between 9pm last Wednesday, October 6, and 7.30am the next morning.

More than one car parked in the yard was interfered with, and catalytic converters, a starter motor, hand tools and other items were stolen.

Murray Bridge man charged over jewellery store theft

Meanwhile, a Murray Bridge man has faced court over a jewellery store robbery in Victor Harbor.

The 38-year-old allegedly smashed a window, grabbed several watches and ran off around 8pm on Saturday.

The crime was witnessed by several people and captured on CCTV.

Police arrested the man in Victor Harbor later that night, and he faced charges of theft and serious criminal trespassing in Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Monday.

The stolen jewellery was still missing a day after the robbery.
