Is it mere co-incidence that both the RMFL’s Imperial football team and the RMNA’s Imperial netball team have topped the 2023 season ladders on the same weekend that the imperial King Charles was crowned? – Yeah, probably.
Anyway, after Round 4 of the RMFL 2023 season, despite a loss to the Southern Mallee League, the Imps top the A-grade ladder with 6 points and 60.56%.

“Winds were light and from the right” at Murray Bridge Rifle Club meet
Winds were light and from the right this past Saturday as shooters from the Murray Bridge Rifle Club competed from 600 metres.
Apart from the day being bookended by a short rain delay, the weather was otherwise consistent and allowed for some competitive shooting.
Top amongst the off-rifle scores were David McDonald in F-Open, who shot a 59.04 and a 58.07 to win the grade on 117.11 and also claim the F-Class handicap with 131.1.
Also scoring a 58.04 on the day with a 55.03 in his second round was Gordon Harrison, who won F-Standard.
Not dropping a point, however, was Target Rifle winner Robert Paech, who shot a double possible for 100.13.
Not so lucky on the day was Wayne Halliday, scoring the only “bird” of the day to win the Magpie Award.
Several shooters also travelled to Kapunda on Sunday to compete in their Open Prize Meeting, with club members gaining success, especially in Target Rifle, where Greg Traeger won A-Grade and the shoot-off, while only behind by the barest of margins was Andrew Heard, who won B-Grade.
Other notable results for the club were from Gordon Harrison and John Cranwell, who both finished second in their grades of F-Standard and F-Open respectively.
Shooting towards the Club Championship continues next week from the range of 700 metres.
