Phones, TV stolen in two Murray Bridge break-ins

Police are looking for whoever broke into a shop at the Marketplace and a house on Swanport Road; plus a drink driver gets caught.

Police need your help to solve two recent break-ins in Murray Bridge.

A shop at Murray Bridge Marketplace was broken into sometime between the close of business last Thursday, March 4, and opening time the next morning.

A Huawei mobile phone was stolen, along with cash and a USB stick.

Police are also looking for items stolen from a house on Swanport Road, including a Toshiba TV with built-in DVD player and two iPhones: a 6S Plus and a 5SE model.

The house was broken into last Friday or Saturday, while nobody was home.

Driver loses car after Hill Street breath test

A 41-year-old Murray Bridge man has lost his car for 28 days after allegedly being caught drink driving on Hill Street.

Police pulled him over at 12.30am on Tuesday.

He allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.176, more than three times the legal limit.

Officers also allege that he had never held a drivers’ licence.

He was told not to drive for 12 months, had his car taken away and will face court after being reported for both driving while unlicensed and drink driving.
