A developer has filed plans for a major retail site in Murray Bridge.

The new building at 8, 8A and 8B Maurice Road would likely house three bulky goods retail businesses.

However, there is no word yet as to which stores would move in.

A development application filed with the State Planning Commission reveals that the site would accommodate “major retailers”.

Its design would be “compatible with existing industrial, commercial and bulky goods buildings that characterise the locality”, according to a report by Mrotek Town Planning.

The proposed development will likely be comprised of three shops. Image: MFY.

The stores would be “compatible with other businesses in the locality that supply hardware, carpet and electrical goods and services”.

A sign at the site of the development indicated a floor plan is yet to be finalised.

The building would be similar in size to Murray Bridge’s K-Hub, being just shy of 4000 square metres.

Consultation about the development will end on August 16.
