Thousands of dollars have been raised for community causes thanks to an annual Christmas raffle run by the Lions Club of Murray Bridge.

All 2000 tickets in the raffle were sold ahead of a prize draw at Murray Bridge Marketplace last Friday, along with more than one tonne of Christmas cakes.

As a result, the club was able to donate $1400 worth of cakes to organisations including Meals on Wheels and AC Care.

Enough of that, though – you probably just want to know who won what.

The prize winners in the raffle were:

  • First prize (garden trolley full of goodies): Tony Williss
  • Second prize (barista machine): M Jacob
  • Third prize (overnight stay at the Bridgeport Hotel): Fran Henschke
  • Fourth prize (Specsavers voucher): Rod Harris
  • Fifth prize (day at the races): Lyn Cox
  • Sixth prize (two model cars): B McInnes
  • Seventh prize (Woolworths voucher): Peta Bald
  • Eighth prize (Amcal voucher): Christine Bailey
  • Ninth prize (BCF voucher): Christine Bailey
  • 10th prize (two family games of 10-pin bowling): Emma Thomson

The club thanked everyone who entered the raffle or supported its work during 2023.
