Life Through the Lens: Light of the world gives us direction

That life-giving orb in the sky!

It is unbelievable that we give so little thought to something so incredibly important to you, me, everyone and everything.

Without its daily burst of life-giving rays, we would not be here.

When was the last time you consciously stopped and thought, “I am so glad that is there, it is so dependable”?

In one of his talks, Jesus said to the people, “I am the light of the world; so if you follow me, you won’t be stumbling through the darkness, for living light will flood your path” (John 8:12).

How many times in life have you faced a situation, lain awake at night, trying to find an answer and it is like searching through a fog?

For myself, I would have to say “many”.

Yet Jesus has said, “I am the light!”

“You don’t have to stumble around trying to find the answers, the way ahead, as if there is only darkness.

“I want to show you the way.

“I desperately wish for your path through life to be clear.

“Please follow, with me lighting the way for you; not because you deserve it, but because I love you.”

The sun shining through the fog can be like a compass from which to get direction.

Do you want to have direction in life?

Look at Jesus and follow where he loves to lead.

You might find his leading through words in the Bible.

His leading might come through talking with another Jesus follower.

Maybe simply sit and talk to Jesus about your feelings and needs.

You may be surprised by his answer and the direction he might lead if you are prepared to follow.

Happy and blessed travels.
