Threat from fire at Brinkley has reduced

The threat to public safety posed by a bushfire bushfire burning south of Murray Bridge has reduced, the Country Fire Service says.

A watch and act message had previously been in effect at Monarto South and Brinkley as the fire burned in an easterly direction near Ferries McDonald Conservation Park.

Advice from the CFS

Smoke will reduce visibility on the roads and there is a risk of trees and branches falling.

Take care in the fire area over the next few days.

Be aware there could be people, vehicles or animals on the road.

Report fallen trees (SES 132 500) and power lines (SA Power Networks 13 13 66).

Check your property for fire and embers particularly in roof spaces, under decks, raised floors and in gutters.

Check in with your neighbours.

If you see flames, report the fire by calling 000.
