Freezing day almost breaks all-time temperature record for Murray Bridge

When the temperature reached a maximum of 7.2 degrees on Thursday, it narrowly missed a 37-year-old record.

How cold was it in Murray Bridge on Thursday?

It was nearly the coldest day ever recorded, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

The record for the lowest maximum temperature in Murray Bridge is exactly seven degrees, set on July 15, 1984.

Thursday’s temperature hovered between five and seven degrees from midnight until mid-afternoon, according to the weather station at Pallamana.

However, by 2.51pm the mercury finally edged up to a maximum of 7.2 degrees.

Even then, the “feels like” temperature was -0.3 degrees, with wind chill and humidity taken into account.

So if you thought it was a bit chilly, you were spot on.
