Police are looking for a thoughtless thief who stole several items from a Murray Bridge museum and tourist attraction last week.

An antique wooden clock and several pieces of blue-and-white crockery, including plates and a pot, pictured above, were reported stolen from the Round House.

Someone broke into the historic building just off Bridge Street around 4.30pm on June 25, a Sunday afternoon.

Anyone with information about the stolen goods should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or at www.crimestopperssa.com.au.

Two face animal cruelty charges in Murray Bridge

Meanwhile, two men will face Murray Bridge Magistrates Court this month over separate allegations of animal cruelty, according to the RSPCA.

A 58-year-old man was charged under the Animal Welfare Act for allegedly failing to provide adequate food or veterinary care to nine dogs.

Inspectors seized the dogs, all of whom were abnormally thin and heavily infested with fleas and scabies, after multiple notifications from members of the public.

Two of the dogs had to be put down.

Another man will face two counts of ill treatment of an animal for allegedly keeping a one-year-old dog in a small, filthy room in Murray Bridge.

The dog has been rehomed.

People found guilty of cruelty to animals may be fined up to $20,000 or face up to two years in prison.

Stolen car located

Police have found a car stolen from a Tailem Bend address in January.

It was allegedly in the possession of a 37-year-old man arrested in Prospect, in Adelaide’s inner north, on Sunday for various firearm, weapons and other offences.

Officers also allegedly found three guns, a crossbow and knives in his possession.

He was due to face Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.

Disqualified drivers reported

Police have reported two locals for allegedly driving while their licences were disqualified.

They stopped a 41-year-old Callington man on Schenscher Road, Monarto at 11.30am on Sunday; and a 30-year-old Murray Bridge man on Swanport Road, Murray Bridge at 2pm.

Officers impounded the Murray Bridge man’s car for 28 days.

Each driver will face court.
