Orion Care is seeking to create inclusive local communities where people with complex care needs can thrive.

That’s the message from the disability care provider as it launches new care services in the Murray Bridge community.

“Putting a roof over someone’s head is a small element of our service offering,” says Orion Care’s Chris Preston.

“For people with disabilities: we want to support you to live your best life.

“We want to understand your ambitions, find out what you can achieve, and help you achieve it.”

Chris and the Orion Care team also understand that everyone needs a place they can truly feel at home and also feel part of the local community.

The organisation currently operates four homes in Murray Bridge, including three on a single street.

Working together, they support their clients to enjoy every aspect of life, whether at home, barbecues or other events.

Support workers are rostered across different homes with oversight from clinical staff where needed, making sure that every client receives the right care for their needs.

Living in an Orion Care home feels like living in a cosy community within a community, Chris says.

“When looking for a new home, our clients also want to know things like: what’s it going to be like living here, am I going to like the neighbours, where are the local community facilities?

“Getting these things right for each client helps us to make sure that the location and property are well matched to their needs.”
