One Nation candidate Tonya Scott wants to end ‘vaccine coercion’

A carer from Strathalbyn will run as a One Nation candidate for Hammond at the upcoming state election.

Tonya Scott has worked in childcare, disability and aged care, as well as being a foster carer.

She described “vaccine coercion” as the issue which had prompted her to run for office.

Too many family members and staff members had been locked out of aged care facilities which required visitors to be vaccinated against COVID-19, she said.

Such vaccination policies were “direct threats to some of the most fundamental principles of our democracy”, she said.

She wanted a royal commission into the state and federal government’s responses to the pandemic, too.

But she also hoped for sustainable funding for aged care and better health services in the regions.

“We need better government services in regional areas, wise public investments in infrastructure and effective policies which put Australians first,” she said.

“We want to improve education outcomes in South Australia.

“We want home ownership to be within reach for every South Australian.”

If given the opportunity to represent the Murraylands in Parliament, she said, she would be a voice that could not be ignored.
