Newbridge developer releases new land parcel amid demand for housing
In stage four of the development, Burke Urban has released more than 30 new lots, along with assisting with a redevelopment of Murray Bridge Golf Club.
A South Australian residential property developer is responding to demand for housing in Murray Bridge with the release of another parcel of residential land.
Burke Urban have announced the release of 21 new lots in stage four of their Newbridge development, along with another 10 allotments which will have views over Murray Bridge’s golf course.
The company is also investing in the upgrade of the Murray Bridge Golf Club, contributing almost $1.2 million to the $2 million project.
The golf club will contribute $200,000 and the federal government $339,000, through a Building Better Regions Fund grant.
Sales and marketing director Olivia Burke said Newbridge would assist with the transformation of the town and provide much needed residential land.
“For the last 10 years Burke Urban, and its supportive joint venture and investor group, has consistently contributed to the vision and planning for the region’s growth, knowing that its close proximity to Adelaide, easy freeway access from Melbourne, river amenity, affordability and burgeoning industry growth gives it the trademark characteristics of a vibrant and sustainable regional city,” Ms Burke said.
“It’s fantastic to see Murray Bridge becoming one of the most sought-after regional areas in South Australia.”
Murray Bridge Golf Club president Mark Bolton said he was thrilled about the club’s redevelopment, which involved two new fairways.
“This project is the most significant upgrade in the club’s history and will transform it from a par 68 into a par 71 championship course,” he said.
“(It is) a great change that is expected to grow the club’s membership and will support an increase in ‘golf tourism’, attracting regional and interstate golfers to play, stay and enjoy the Murraylands’ attractions in-between a game of golf or two.”
Newbridge’s construction has involved a number of local businesses and club sponsors, including Spry Civil Constructions, Ackmac Irrigation and Daish Irrigation.
The development will help to address strong demand for housing from local employers looking to hire staff in the near future.
Newbridge was launched in September 2020, with the first block of land selling in October the same year.
The 45-hectare land parcel is valued at $50 million and will eventually include up to 400 residential allotments.
