A two-day wellbeing summit will be held in Murray Bridge next week to celebrate the community's strengths, identify gaps in regional services and foster positive change.

The summit, to be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, will bring together multiple service providers in the community to discuss and promote wellbeing.

On day one, from 9.30am to 3.30pm, interactive workshops will be held exploring five key themes: life on the land and the river, homelessness and housing, transport, community connection, and health and wellbeing.

Day two, from 1.30pm-3pm, will focus on refining those ideas and transforming them into actionable outcomes.

Participants will also have the opportunity to vote on a project to receive immediate funding.

Murray Bridge Wellbeing Hub project officer Shelley Rose said she was looking forward to collaborating on the event.

“The wellbeing summit will be a powerful opportunity to ignite meaningful conversations and collaborations that empower our community to prioritise health, wellbeing, community growth and connection,” she said.

“It will bring together diverse voices, fostering a collective approach to building a more resilient, supportive and thriving community for all.”

Service providers in attendance will include:

  • AC Care
  • Foodbank
  • Genuine Support Services Australia
  • The Haven
  • iReach Rural Health
  • Murray Bridge Community Centre
  • Murray Bridge Wellbeing Hub
  • Planning Institute of Australia
  • Preventive Health SA
  • Skylight Mental Health

The Murray Bridge council's community development general manager, Deb Richardson, was also enthusiastic about the summit's potential outcomes.

“This is a great opportunity to bring key change-makers together and explore how we can create meaningful outcomes," she said.

The wellbeing summit will be held at the Murraylands Skills Centre on Bridge Street.

Attendance is free, but registration is required.
