Once again fireworks will be lit and the bridge will be glowing for the annual Murray Bridge new years eve celebrations.

Along the riverbanks at Sturt Reserve locals can enjoy food trucks, live music, and entertainment from 5pm.

The 100-year-old railway bridge will be illuminated ahead of everyone's favourite part – fireworks lighting up the sky from 9.30pm.

Bridge and river closures will be in place during the fireworks to ensure the safety of attendees.

Mayor Wayne Thorley said the excitement is already building for the celebrations.

"We are proud to ring in the new year over our iconic bridge.

"Events like this not only bring people together but also support our local economy by attracting visitors to our region and showcasing our businesses, hospitality and vibrant public spaces," Mr Thorley said.

Residents are reminded to keep pets safely secured and be aware of dry zone restrictions.

Crowds will be able to watch on from the new lower timber wharf for the first time which was part of the Sturt Reserve and surrounding riverfront upgrades.
