Murray Bridge United names A-grade captain

Murray Bridge United has named Dale Binney as its A-grade captain for 2026.

A leader on and off the pitch, Binney will bring experience, commitment, and a whole lot of passion for the club.

United will play in SAASL's division three this season, against Adelaide Blue Eagles, Brothers United, The Cove, FC Summit, Stirling Districts and the refreshingly close-by Strathalbyn Strikers.

Change of tactics works for Dolman

He'd been finding too much trouble off the tee recently, so former solid A-grader Damian Dolman has left his driver in the bag all day and instead used his three wood to advantage to take out a Stableford competition at Murray Bridge Golf Club on Easter Saturday.

Keeping out of trouble and also finding his chipping and putting on song, the game seemed easy for once as a mountainous score of 41 points tallied up by games end.

Rounding off with a 22-point back nine, he also picked up the day's pro comp to add to his winnings.

Well done to the bearded one – it looks like he has unlocked the secret to good golf and also the end of his 16 handicap.

The course was green and the fairways lush and with little run, making life tougher than normal for the short to medium hitters.

The scores generally reflected this, with a meagre 34 points winning the A grade for Aaron Harding on a countback from Greg Lannan.

In the B grade Rod Thoman needed "just" 35 points to claim victory, also on a countback over Glenn Hanson.

Ben Lundberg broke the mould somewhat by conjuring up 40 points to take out the C grade from Bradley Wright, with 37.

Tailem Bend's Easter Cup has good turnout

Congratulations to Craig McLoughlin, who took out the 2026 Easter Cup at Tailem Bend Golf Club with a combined score of 73.

Runner-up Vicki Stokes scored 71 points, with the bronze going to Glen More on 70.

Glen More swapped places with Craig McLoughlin in the Stableford, clocking up 39 points for victory, followed home by Randall Cocks on 36 and Craig McLoughlin on 35.
