A Murray Bridge North School student's artwork has submitted one of the standout entries for Tony Pasin's annual Christmas card competition.

Six-year-old Scarlett's artwork represented Christmas in the Murraylands and will be featured on the outside of Mr Pasin's Christmas card this year.

The annual Christmas cards are sent to more than 82,000 letterboxes across the electorate of Barker.

Scarlett was recently presented with her prize: a set of Derwent fine art pencils to encourage her budding artistic talent.

“Congratulations to Scarlett and all the students who participated in this year’s competition," Mr Pasin said.

"The creativity and pride for their local region displayed by these young artists is something we can all be proud of.

“It was wonderful to visit Scarlett at Murray Bridge North School and personally deliver her prize.

"I hope this recognition inspires Scarlett and other young students to continue exploring their artistic skills.”

Meanwhile, last month, local talent Paula Mayfield was one of the winners for Mr Pasin’s Barker’s best photo competition.

Her stunning photograph of Murray Bridge's bridges was judged the most outstanding for the Murraylands.

Hundred of entries across the electorate were submitted for the competition, which showcased amateur photographers' skills.

Ms Mayfield was presented a framed copy of her photo and a $200 voucher.

“Congratulations to all photographers who submitted entries that capture elements of Barker’s unmistakable natural beauty," Mr Pasin said.

"With over 100 quality entries, it was a difficult task to select each region’s winning photograph."
