Murray Bridge News’ 2022 reader survey winner is…
Thanks to everyone who completed our 2022 reader survey, and congratulations to our local prize-winner.
Keith Simmons says Murray Bridge News is about the only news he reads these days.
He and his wife Rose don’t buy a printed newspaper any more – they get state news from InDaily and local news from this website.
“I try to keep up with the locals,” he said.
“(Murray Bridge News) is really the only local news these days.”
Last week, his reading habits were rewarded – he was randomly selected as the prize-winner for completing Murray Bridge News’ recent reader survey.
On Thursday, he picked up a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite tablet, supplied by Murray Computers, and received a 12-month extension to his subscription.
What did we learn from the reader survey, anyway?
First of all: thank you to all of you who completed our survey.
Doing an exercise like this helps us better understand you, our readers, and the stories you’d like us to tell.
You told us:
- You would overwhelmingly recommend Murray Bridge News
- We’ve helped 97% of you feel more connected, empowered 75% of you to have your say about local issues, and prompted more than half of you to go to an event or join a group
- You want more coverage of the environment and River Murray – understandable at the moment
- You’d like to see us publish more photo galleries
- The price of a subscription is just right
- You are typically older, more educated and more likely to be female than the average Murray Bridge person
We’ll take your many suggestions into account as we plan our news coverage for 2023.
We’ll also pass on your feedback about login issues for paying subscribers to Substack, the company which built our web platform – our apologies about that.
But mostly, we’ll float into the weekend, buoyed by all of your kind comments.
Thank you.
