The Lions Club of Murray Bridge is continuing one of its most cherished annual traditions.
Last week, members gave away dozens of Christmas fruit cakes to locals who might enjoy them.
Hylton Moritz and Ian Hollick took 24 cakes and four hampers to AC Care, who will distribute them among foster carers and families in need.
“We like doing this each year,” Mr Moritz said.
“Community (members) have got a lot to account for, and we try to do our little bit.”
AC Care’s Michelle Probert said the donation would be appreciated.
“We’ve got a few (carers) who’ve got quite a few kids, so Christmas can be expensive as it is,” she said.
“It all helps.”
Lions Paul Wade and Ann Hughes took another batch of cakes to the Murray Bridge branch of Meals on Wheels, for their clients.
The club has donated to Meals on Wheels for 18 straight years.
