Murray Bridge Centrelink office moves to the Marketplace
Services Australia has confirmed what the rumour mill had already suggested.
Murray Bridge’s Centrelink office has moved into the Murray Bridge Marketplace shopping centre.
Staff shut the doors at the agency’s old office, at 12 Bridge Street, for the last time on Friday.
The move into the space formerly occupied by retailer Best and Less had been the subject of local rumours for several months.
A Services Australia spokesman said the new office had “a contemporary layout … easier service navigation and the ability to book appointments for Centrelink services”.
It will be open between 8.30am and 4.30pm on weekdays.
Services Australia is the government department which operates Centrelink, Medicare, the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme and the Child Support Agency.
It was known as the Department of Human Services prior to 2019 and the Department of Social Security prior to 2004.
