Murray Bridge jockeys look for more wins after plundering Morphettville
Apprentice jockeys Jessica Eaton and Sophie Logan had five victories between them on Saturday.
Two apprentice jockeys from Murray Bridge will look to continue a streak of good form today after winning five races between them at Morphettville on Saturday.
Jessica Eaton won aboard Von Saga, Aadelad and Cannot Be Serios.
Sophie Logan had two wins for Naracoorte trainers Sue and Jason Jaensch, on Von Costa Glass and Muntham Missile.
Local trainer Michael Hickmott described Eaton as “a great asset to my team” after she rode Cannot Be Serios to win by 2.3 lengths.
It was the first treble of Eaton’s career.
“This is my first time riding three, so I’m pretty happy,” she told Racing.com.
Hickmott and Eaton will join forces again for race three at Murray Bridge today, with three-year-old gelding Talamo.
Logan will ride two starters for her usual trainer, local Grant Young.
Hickmott had already made waves in the industry recently with his purchase of Lakewood Stud at Wellington, a 320-hectare property with two training tracks and accommodation for more than 70 horses.
