A Bordertown man has died in a crash on the Dukes Highway near Tailem Bend on Sunday.

His motorbike collided head-on with a semi-trailer about 500 metres north of the Mallee Highway intersection, on the approach to the railway bridge, around 10.45am.

The 33-year-old died at the scene.

The driver of the semi-trailer was not physically hurt.

The Dukes Highway was closed to traffic in both directions until well into the evening while major crash investigators took a look at the scene.

Investigators later determined that the man’s death would not count towards South Australia’s road toll as it was due to other issues.

Anyone who witnessed the crash should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestopperssa.com.au.
