When life’s legal problems arise, you need someone you can trust.

You need someone who can help you reach an intelligent solution, ideally without having to set foot inside a courtroom.

Tindall Gask Bentley Lawyers are here for you.

Five years have passed since TGB’s merger with local firm Mason Westover Homburg, and you’ll find a few new faces alongside the experienced hands on First Street these days.

Here’s a guide to the lawyers on the team and the ways in which they can help you.

Toni Emanuele

Partner Toni Emanuele has spent 14 years practising in the area of personal injury law.

She’s the one to call if you’ve been in a road or workplace accident, need to access workers’ compensation or public liability, or experience total and permanent disability.

“I have an interest in helping people and hearing their stories,” she says.

“People need help.”

Journeying alongside people who have experienced major setbacks in their lives, and securing the funds or help that allow them to get back on track, is incredibly rewarding, she says.

Jim Mason

Senior lawyer Jim Mason is in his 45th year of practice, and specialises in wills, estates and property, including conveyancing.

He’s the man to see if you need to prepare or execute an estate; or buy, sell, lease or subdivide a property.

“They’re important parts of people’s lives,” he says – and he’s determined to help you negotiate them.

Philip Westover

Another familiar face around the Murraylands, senior lawyer Philip Westover has practised in areas as varied as family and commercial law, estate planning and personal injury litigation since 1984.

He proudly traces the history of the firm he and Jim Mason founded back more than 100 years, to the early 20th-century practices of John Homburg senior and Stanley von Doussa.

The merger with TGB has given him and his team access to more resources than ever, he says, while allowing him to stay and train the young lawyers who will someday carry on his work.

Alex Svenson

For the past seven years, senior associate Alex Svenson has specialised in family law: divorce, separation, parenting arrangements and property matters.

Her focus is sorting out disputes as quickly, amicably and cost-effectively as possible.

She encourages people to seek advice as soon as trouble arises.

“Coming to a lawyer doesn’t mean you’re about to go to court or have a big fight,” she says.

“Most matters we can resolve without going to court, or I can give you ways of sorting them out yourselves – all I have to do is make it legally binding.

“Talking to me means you’re getting advice.”

Caitlin Shervill

Lawyer Caitlin Shervill is still putting down roots in Murray Bridge, having moved from the Northern Territory in 2021.

She is motivated to help solve people’s problems, and build long-lasting local relationships, through her work with wills and estates, conveyances and commercial law.

She is already enjoying immersing herself in the community.
