Police have made two arrests following an infamous theft at Mannum Showground five weeks ago.

On May 27, someone cut through a fence, broke into a shipping container and stole an amount of copper cabling and floodlights intended to be used in an oval lighting upgrade.

Following an investigation, police revealed on Wednesday that they had arrested two Adelaide men: a 41-year-old from Athelstone and a 35-year-old from Northfield.

Each was charged with theft and serious criminal trespassing.

Both were held in custody ahead of a court appearance “in the coming months”.
