Whatever your education or career goal, the team at MADEC’s new Murray Bridge office is here to help you achieve it.
Not-for-profit private training provider MADEC Australia reopened its doors at 3/4 Seventh Street on Friday, almost 18 months after moving out of premises on Bridge Street.
At the new location, its trainers will provide support to people seeking qualifications or skills in fields including:
- Early childhood education and care
- Individual support (for disability or aged care)
- Hospitality
- Retail
- Business
Training manager Jo Wood – who grew up in Murray Bridge – hoped the office would help MADEC provide more support to all its students, whether they were studying online or through VET courses at Murray Bridge High School.
“We felt it important that they could come together with their trainers, participate in training and talk about their studies and how they’re progressing,” she said.
“Every single one of our trainers has a passion for delivering training to people to help them become workplace-competent.
“We’re here to make sure people can do something that makes a difference to the community.”
Many readers may recognise MADEC from its work providing employment services.
However, the focus of the new facility is firmly on providing courses to suit people from all walks of life: whether migrant workers seeking a long-term career, people with competing family commitments, or high schoolers daunted at the prospect of pursuing further study.
Learner support services team leader Carey Hauri said MADEC could help students overcome all sorts of barriers.
“This is not just the opening of a building,” she said.
“It’s a training hub that is supporting people of Murray Bridge and surrounding areas to change their lives through education, so that they can go on to build better lives for themselves and make an important difference in their community.
“That’s what MADEC is all about: helping people, addressing needs and improving lives.”
